Custom AI Character Contest: Back to Reality

Soulkyn is a platform that combines rampant creativity with advanced custom AI character tools. To keep our community sharp, we host a monthly AI character creator contest.

For our September theme, the Soulkyn team has chosen Back to Reality. This contest asks you to create an AI character that makes the daily grind a little easier. You know, the coworker that surprises you with a coffee, the pretty evening-class tutor that smiles when you walk through the door or the gym regular who always gives you a nod of encouragement. For this contest, we task you with creating an AI companion that livens up your daily routine and turns it into something you look forward to.

What We’re Looking For

Back to Reality isn’t set in some fantasy realm or distant planet. It takes place right here in the real world. We want to see custom AI characters that could exist in our reality. Whether it’s a fellow passenger who holds the train door open for you when you’re running late or the cashier who helps you carry your groceries to the car, your AI companion entry should be an ordinary person that makes a mundane day memorable.

We want to see an AI character with personality, not a loose collection of traits boxed in an avatar. Give some thought to your character’s life and backstory. What does their routine look like and how do you fit into it? Are they just being kind, or is there another motivation behind their good deeds? What are the unspoken rules between you? Would they contact you if you didn’t show up? Your AI companion’s motivations, character, and backstory should come through clearly in an AI roleplay. Need some inspiration? Build the world around them

Each facet of your character’s world should add to our judges’ impression of them. Whether it’s their crisp white shirt or their desk by a sunlit office window, every detail acts as a visual clue to their identity. Details like worn cardigans, ID badges, high-visibility vests, train tickets, and coffee cups all come together to help create an AI companion with images that capture the theme of the contest.
