Introducing Soulkyn’s New AI Group Chat Experience

Soulkyn is not a static AI roleplay platform. It is constantly evolving to stay at the cutting edge of AI companion technology. Our new Soulkyn group chat system isn’t a minor update to existing features; it’s a major upgrade. Let’s take a look at the new system and what it means for the future of AI group chats.

Users can now invite up to eight AI companions to one room. To keep things neat, each kyn will respond within their own message bubble with a color-coded name label. This will not only make group chats easier to keep track of, it will also be easier to edit or regenerate individual replies. In the classic system, selecting ‘Continue’ would mean that the AI generated a response. Now, users can select which AI companion will continue the conversation. Each reply includes a “Picturize” option, making AI roleplay with images more immersive by allowing users to create images that match each AI companion’s response. It’s an ideal update for multi-character settings like fantasy adventuring parties, NSFW AI chat groups, friend hangouts and RPG campaigns.

Like a human group chat, an AI character chat with multiple kyns will naturally develop a group dynamic with rivalries, alliances, and banter. Our smart system chooses which kyn responds to a user’s message based on whether they have anything meaningful to add. It also allows kyns to respond to each other, so users can sit back and watch the conversation unfold. To speak to a specific kyn, simply include their name in your message and they will respond directly.

At Soulkyn, we prioritize creative freedom and user autonomy. If users do not wish to use the new group chat system, the classic system is still available. Existing group chats will not be impacted by the upgrade. They will continue to work as before because the upgrade only applies to newly created group chats.

All existing settings like memories, narrator mode, roleplay, clothing and location tracking will continue to work within the new group chat system. For another layer of control, you can also choose how talkative an AI companion is by using a per-member talkativeness slider. If one AI character with personality to spare is dominating the chat, users have the ability to reduce how much they talk or mute them entirely.

AI companions can also be invited to or removed from a group chat without disrupting the flow. The remaining cast of characters will simply adjust to the new dynamic and move on, allowing the story to continue uninterrupted. DLL, World & RPG cards are also fully supported. Users can add them to set the stage for the group. The new group chat system comes with a Discord-style interface that makes it easier to see who is in the chat, who is hosting the room, and which World, RPG, or DLL cards are active. Each new group chat will receive a permanent conversation link, making it easier to revisit ongoing conversations.
